1930s Antique EFFANBEE Anne Shirley Composition Doll - £125.00
      Circa late 1930s antique American composition Effanbee "Anne Shirley" doll, 15 inches in height with beautiful colouring, blue sleep eyes, all her eyelashes and original mohair wig. As usually found with the antique composition dolls there's crazing to the paint, this is mostly to limbs but light coverage to face too. There's minor residue to one shin which I'd say would remove if desired but I've left her exactly as found. Overall excellent clean condition for years, no odours of any kind. Shirley Anne's outfit was homemade by the child owner and her mother so there's a combination of big simple stitches and neat detailed work too. There's lots of sequin, net and lace detail and what looks to be little wings at the back!. Dress is roughly sewn up at back but there's an opening where fabric can be pushed to one side to read marking "EFFANBEE ANNE SHIRLEY".

Antique German Bisque Walther & Sohn Doll - 24 inches - £220.00
      Circa 1910 antique German Walther & Sohn bisque head doll, a very pretty big girl, 24 inches in height with brown sleep eyes, open mouth, teeth and original wavy mohair wig. The bisque head has no cracks, chips or hairlines. She's on her original wood and composition ball jointed body, very sturdy but surface age dirt, paint scuffs and areas of old overpaint (lower legs, ball joints and arm openings). One finger missing otherwise all fingers and toes intact. Her outfit is showing it's years a little but still displays well. She has socks but sadly lost her shoes. She's marked with Walther & Sohn's "W&S" logo "9".

Ca 1860 Early English Antique Poured Wax Boy Doll - £295.00
    Wonderful rare find all original antique English poured wax doll dating right back to the 1860s. He's 13 inches in height with exquisite detail to the poured wax shoulder head, stunning glass eyes and completely original fine hair inserts (all intact). The wax is in excellent condition for it's many years, I can find no damage. The original cloth body and wax lower limbs are all in excellent order, all fingers and toes intact. Wearing his original gown and undergarments with a little ageing to fabric as to be expected but still present beautifully on him. These early English poured wax dolls don't come up for sale very often, he's a fabulous piece of early doll making history and obviously been well treasured to have remained in such lovely condition today.

Ca 1890s Antique German Composition Schilling Doll - £175.00
      Fabulous all original early composition German Schilling shoulder head doll (unmarked) dating to circa 1890s. An extremely handsome early boy, 19 inches in height with glass eyes and original blonde wig. He's on his original composition limb firmly stuffed cloth body, good and clean for years with old neat patches to upper legs and a couple of hard to spot repairs to fingers (nicely done). Wearing his wonderful original outfit of trousers, coat, matching hat, detachable collar and belt, socks and adorable leather shoes. As usually found with these early composition shoulder heads, there's a few surface cracks which have old touch up. His nose will have also been touched up over the years otherwise he's fared the years beautifully.

Ca 1880s Antique German Bisque Kestner Alphabet Series Doll - £295.00
     Antique German bisque shoulder head doll, a very special little girl from Kestner's harder to find alphabet series. She dates to circa 1880, fourteen inches in height with outstanding fine bisque turned head shoulder plate, deep brown glass eyes in their original factory set, open mouth, all her dainty teeth and original two tone hair wig. She's on her original gusseted kid leather body showing a little age related wear as to be expected but overall excellent solid condition for years. Arms tad swingy at shoulders otherwise very good with finely detailed bisque lower arms, all fingers perfectly intact. The fine quality bisque shoulder head has superb detail to it, no chips, cracks or hairlines (original pate firmly plastered down). Lovely antique outfit of dress and full fine cotton undergarments, all in good clean condition. She's inscribed with letter "C" to back of crown and shoulder plate "Made in Germany".

1930s Antique Belgium UNICA Baby Doll - £65.00
      1930s antique Begium UNICA baby doll, 17 inches in height with all original painted features and open mouth with both her front teeth. Baby is on her original cloth jointed body in excellent condition for years. The head is a heavy composition pottery, super quality with deeply moulded curls. There are some paint scuffs to the composition and light surface age dirt. No chips cracks or hairlines. Wearing a nice knitted outfit of dress, coat, vest and knickers, she's marked "UNICA - Made in Belgium".

Antique Wax Doll in Original Outfit - 10.5 inches - £115.00
    Antique wax-over doll circa 1890 - 1900, completely all original with solidly stuffed cloth body, composition lower limbs, blonde hair wig, dark brown glass eyes and closed mouth. The original outfit comprises of full length black velvet skirt, matching coat and hat, all garments lightly dusty and faded but no stains or odours of any kind. Wax-overs are typically crazed and cracked but I can only find a few light scratches and fine wax hairline by the right outer eye. The wax itself would benefit a light clean and there's rubbing to the eyebrows and nose tip. All fingers intact, there's a couple of teeny tiny nibbles to toe tips. Just as found, doll has no restoration of any kind. 10.5 inches in height.

Antique German Armand Marseille 996 Character Toddler Doll - £165.00
      This antique German Armand Marseille 996 character toddler doll is a gorgeous little girl dating to the late 1920s. 16 inches in height with blue sleep eyes, open mouth, both her front teeth, pierced nostrils ("breather") and nice replacement blonde wig. The bisque head has wig pulls to upper temple areas (hidden by wig) but no cracks or hairlines. She's on her original composition toddler body with some wear to the finish and repair to fingers and toes otherwise good and sturdy, nicely strung. Wearing a delightful outfit of flower print dress, matching bonnet with old cotton slip and knickers along with modern shoes and socks. She's marked "Armand Marseille Germany 996 A3M ".

Antique Black German Recknagel Closed Mouth Baby Doll - £140.00
    Antique German Recknagel baby doll who's 11 inches in height and dates to the late 1920's. She has stiff brown sleep eyes (visible lid wax), closed mouth and wears an old pink knit dress and cotton "onesie". She's on her original bent limb baby body, over-painted at some time otherwise good, sturdy condition. The painted bisque head has a few tiny scuffs to the hair paint but no chips, cracks or hairlines. Marked "Germany NK 4 R 1 '/2 A".

Antique German CM Bergmann Child Doll in School Uniform - £175.00
    A very pretty antique German child doll by CM Bergmann beautifully dressed all ready for school!.. Dating to ca 1916, she's 21 inches in height with blue sleep eyes, original silk lashes, short human hair wig and open mouth with perfect row of bisque teeth. She's on her original harder to find straight leg jointed wood and composition body which has an old repaint (couple of craze lines within the paint) and loss of one thumb. The bisque head has no chips, cracks or hairlines, just two minor factory pin pricks to chin and couple of tiny kiln dust speckles. The lovely old outfit includes pinafore, blouse with ribbon tie and brass tie bar pin, knitted undergarments and cream lace up shoes (shoes more modern). All garments in super condition for years, blouse just needs new fasteners at cuffs (currently pinned). She's marked with her mould no. "1916" to rim and "Germany B5" to neck.

Antique Black German Celluloid Baby Doll (Turtlemark) - £125.00
     Fresh out of decades of storage this fabulous rare find antique German celluloid baby doll is complete with original outfit. A very handsome glass eyed baby boy who looks as though he was never played with, immaculately clean, no play wear but an old attempt at re-string by glueing head into position and elastic via outer thigh (legs still loosely strung). There's some old damage to one foot which occurred during his many years of storage. He retains perfect colour and finish, outfit has no dirt or damage, sewn up at back from new but apart from a dent to his groin I can find no damage underneath. 13 inches in height, he has the turtle mark and "Germany" to neck.

Antique German AM Mulatto Red Indian Boy Doll - £95.00
   All original cabinet size antique German Armand Marseille Red Indian doll, a lovely detailed boy complete with his two piece felt suit, leather belt, feather head dress, "blanket" and lots of cotton fringe trimmings!. He has the darkest brown set glass eyes, open mouth, all his teeth and long black mohair wig. The jointed composition body is excellent, clothes have never been removed and preserved it beautifully. All fingers perfectly intact. There are no chips, cracks or hairlines to the bisque head, he has super complexion and skin tone. Incised "20/0". Outfit also in excellent condition for years, no damage or odours. He's 7.5 inches in height.

Antique German Bisque Intaglio Character Boy Doll - £195.00
    Dating to around 1910, this antique German "Baby Stuart" type character boy doll is 15 inches in height. He has wonderful detailed features, intaglio eyes and closed mouth. He's on his original fully jointed "broomstick leg" body in excellent condition for years, all fingers and toes intact (minor chip to one toe and thumb). The bisque head has a little ingrained dirt and couple of fine firing scratches from the factory (below one cheek and beside neck mould line) but no chips, cracks or hairlines. The mould number mark is very faint and tiny within the hair, looks to read 142. The antique cream wool gown looks to be his original, there's also a knitted "onesie" which is quite tatty.

Antique German AM 341 "Frog Body" Dream Baby Doll - £150.00 (RESERVED)
      Dating to the mid 1920s this larger sized antique German Armand Marseille Dream Baby doll is 15 inches in height. An adorable serious faced baby with pouty closed mouth and blue sleep eyes (just tiny amount of wear to lid wax). She's on her original "frog" cloth body with light wear/markings and overpaint to hands where there's been couple of finger repairs but overall good sturdy condition for years. Baby has an internal squeaking/mama device in her tummy which no longer works. No cracks, chips or hairline damage to the bisque head. Just as found in old dress and jacket set which are a little tatty but still displays nicely on her. She's marked "GERMANY AM 341 4 ".
Antique English Chad Valley Cloth Doll in Original Summer Outfit - SOLD
      Circa 1920s/30s antique English Chad Valley cloth doll with labels retained to both feet and dress label too. 13 inches in height with blue glass eyes, original mohair wig and jointed head/limbs (slight wobble to head). Doll, wig and outfit are all dusty with a few small marks to outfit. Her original outfit includes dress, slip, matching knickers, bonnet and shoes. Although she's dusty there are no odours to doll or outfit of any kind.
Antique English Chad Valley Cloth Doll in Original Winter Outfit - £160.00 (RESERVED)
      Circa 1920s/30s antique English Chad Valley cloth doll with labels retained to both feet. 13 inches in height with blue glass eyes, original mohair wig (this looks to have been trimmed) and jointed head/limbs. Doll, wig and outfit are all dusty with fading to the red velvet hat, coat and shoes. She has light watermarks to tummy and sprinkling of rust speckles to left leg. Her original outfit includes polka dot dress, matching pantaloons, coat, hat, shoes (one cut out larger than the other shoe) and delightful plush muff and mittens, these are all played with condition with fading to the velvet. Although she's dusty there are no odours to doll or outfit of any kind.
RARE 1920s Antique Armand Marseille Oriental Baby Doll - £520.00 (RESERVED)
     1920s antique German Armand Marseille Oriental doll, a wonderful seldom found baby doll wearing his original outfit of trousers, robe, waist sash and onesie. 12 inches in height with perfect sleep eyes and pouty closed mouth. Baby has no chips, cracks or hairlines to the bisque, just minor light rubs to hair paint. He's on his original bent limb composition body with damage to one hand (see photo/more available on request), few chips to toes and some wear to inner leg sockets (inside the doll) but overall good sturdy condition. Original factory stringing just a teeny bit slack but safe and sturdy, he poses well. Doll and outfit have minor light surface dirt with age but no odours of any kind. The outfit is good apart from onesie being a little tatty and small moth holes to trousers. He's marked "AM Germany 353 2K".
Large 1920s Antique German 24 inch Dream Baby Doll - SOLD
    Dating to the mid 1920s, this lovely big antique German Armand Marseille Dream Baby doll is a harder to find large size of 24 inches. A perfect size for pram, chair or cot display, she is beautifully presented in antique cotton and lace clothing including gown, lace jacket, bonnet and undergarments. Lovely bisque with good colour, no chips, cracks or hairlines, just a few minor rubs to hair. She has blue sleep eyes, almost all lid wax and retains both her bottom teeth. On her original big chunky composition baby body in excellent condition for years, tip of one finger missing otherwise all fingers/toes intact. Light dust and a couple of small marks to outfit otherwise super for age. She's marked "AM Germany 351/8K".
Ca 1890s Antique German Bisque Armand Marseille 1894 - SOLD
       Late 19th century antique German Armand Marseille doll dating to circa mid 1890s. A stunning early mould 1894, she's 20 inches in height with superbly moulded bisque head, well defined features, no chips cracks or hairlines. She has the most beautiful deepest brown glass eyes in their factory fixed set, original soft blonde hair wig and open mouth with perfect row of teeth. She's on her fully jointed wood and composition body (these early long thigh bodies were known as "broomstick" bodies"). Possibly some refill to one forearm but nicely matched if so (this may be just a factory flaw). A few surface hairlines to top torso and light expected paint scuffs here and there but overall good and strong, all fingers and toes intact. Wearing her original factory chemise in good clean condition. Chemise currently fastens with a safety pin but there's no evidence of ever being fasteners. A totally adorable harder to find AM doll for display marked "1894 - Made in Germany AM".
RARE.. Antique German Armand Marseille Walking Mama Child Doll - SOLD
      Rare find large antique German bisque head walking mama child doll by Armand Marseille dating to circa 1910. She's 24 inches in height with blue sleep eyes, all her hair lashes, open mouth, teeth and original (slightly untidy) mohair wig. The bisque head has no play chips, cracks or hairlines. She's on her original wood and composition walking body with light play wear and areas of surface paint cracking to torso but overall good, strong and sturdy, all fingers and toes intact. Remarkably after all these years the walking and mama mechanisms still work nicely with good head turning action as she walks and delightful "honking" cry for "Mama"!!. Despite being fully jointed the Armand Marseille walking dolls were not designed to be seated. Wearing a genuine antique Victorian gown with lots of beautiful detail to it (hard to appreciate on photos). Gown in lovely condition for over 100 years old but colour a little greyed and is creased from storage. Also wearing the full length cotton slip, long knickers, socks and shoes, all look to be original to doll. She's marked "Armand Marseille 390 Germany A 6 1/2 M".
Antique German Schoenau & Hoffmeister Bisque Doll - mould 1923 - SOLD
       Early 1920s antique German Schoenau & Hoffmeister bisque child doll, a harder to find mould number "1923". She's 20 inches in height with brown sleep eyes, all her lashes, open mouth, teeth and original mohair wig which is very short and untidy. She's on her original ball jointed body with composition wear to one foot and damage to the hands (one finger missing, 3 have been roughly glued) otherwise good and strong for years. The bisque head has no chips, cracks or hairlines, marked "1923 SPBH" (in a star) "Germany". She presents well in vintage dress, hooded cape, antique cotton slip, ankle length lace trimmed knickers and newer socks (no shoes).

     Dating to the mid 1920s this antique German Armand Marseille Dream Baby doll is 12 inches in height. A very sweet baby with pouty closed mouth and blue sleep eyes which have minor loss to lid wax. He's on his original "frog" cloth body with some wear and replacement composition hands. Baby has an internal squeaking mama device in his tummy which still works loud and clear when he's tilted!. Beautiful bisque head with lovely defined features, no cracks, chips or hairlines. Nicely dressed in antique knitted suit of jacket, vest and long shorts, he's a delightful little baby for display. Marked "GERMANY AM 341 3".
Antique French Bisque SFBJ "Bluette" Doll in Original Outfit - £350.00 (RESERVED)
        Wonderful antique French bisque head SFBJ "Bluette" mould 60 doll, a harder to find larger size of 19" in height dating to circa 1910. This is a very special antique French doll for display complete with original outfit of full length day dress. apron and exquisite dainty lace trimmed cotton camisole, slip and ankle length bloomers (shoes are a recent addition to compliment the original outfit). She has the most beautiful deep blue glass eyes in their original factory fixed set, rooted cap wig (slightly untidy otherwise good and full) and open mouth with bisque teeth. She's on her original chunky leg fully jointed wood and composition body which has fared the years beautifully, very liitle paint wear and completely free of repaint or restoration. The bisque head has no chips, cracks or hairlines. The original outfit has light age spotting otherwise very good for years. She's marked "SFBJ PARIS 60" with SFBJ factory label still retained to body and faint "Bluette" stamp to back.

        Dating to circa 1910 this absolutely stunning large size antique Simon & Halbig doll is an outstanding and all original early no. 10 mould. She's 22" in height with huge fully lashed blue eyes (these are stiff to sleep), open mouth, full row of teeth and superb original soft blonde wig which is nice and full. The bisque head is beautifully moulded, no chips, cracks or hairlines. She's on her original ball jointed wood and composition body, clearly backstamped with the "WP" Waltershauser Puppenfabrik marking. Body in fabulous condition for years retaining it's factory finish, all fingers and toes intact. Just as found in her original lace trimmed "onesie", full slip and pretty lace trimmed dress, all good and clean for years. She's a magnificent antique Simon & Halbig doll for display, obviously been well treasured to have remained in such beautiful condition today. Marked "S&H 10" to neck.

     Dating to the mid 1920s, this absolutely gorgeous antique German Armand Marseille Dream baby doll is 15 inches in height. She's a fabulous example with big blue sleep eyes, superb fresh colour, sweet moulded curls and open mouth with both her bottom teeth. The bisque head is fabulous, no chips, cracks or hairlines. The original composition bent limb baby body has fared the years beautifully, no repaint or restoration, all fingers and toes intact. Wearing delightful antique cotton and broderie anglaise gown, very pretty old satin type bonnet along with more modern lace bloomers and matching bootees. She's marked "AM Germany 351/ 3 1/2K".
Rare Antique Gofun Oriental Baby Doll - All Original Japanese Boy! - £150.00 (RESERVED)
     Completely all original antique Oriental baby doll dating to circa 1900 - 1910. Made from early good quality composition with "Gofun" finish (laquer which was made from glue/ground oyster shells to achieve fine quality porcelain-like effect). Fabulous detail to this baby, you'll adore him in real life, such a wonderful expressive little face with pouty bottom lip (the pouty lip lineage denotes earlier best quality doll). Baby's in superb condition for his years, obviously been carefully treasured all these years, I really can't fault him apart from a couple of light surface crazes to legs. 8 inches in height, he wears his original robe.

Dating to the mid/late 1920s, she's a beautiful happy faced baby with sparkling big blue sleep eyes and open mouth with both her front teeth. No chips, cracks or hairlines to the bisque head. She's on her original composition bent limb baby body with some wearing to torso rim, a few paint cracks to feet and scratch to one knee but overall lovely solid condition for years. One chipped finger tip otherwise all fingers and toes intact. A truly magnificent large antique baby doll for display, just as found in adorable antique knitted clothing of dress, jacket, bootees along with cotton vest, knickers and beret. She's marked "AM Germany 518/9K".
Antique German Armand Marseille AM390 Bisque Doll - 22 inches - SOLD
       Circa 1910 antique German Armand Marseille 390n doll, 22 inches in height with blue sleep eyes, open mouth, teeth and original soft hair wig (lightly dusty). The bisque head has no cracks, chips or hairlines. She's on her original wood and composition ball jointed body which is surface grubby with some paint wear/crazes, hands overpainted and couple of fingers have been repaired. Area to tops of thighs/hips has old repaint. Wearing a lovely antique outfit of white cotton and lace dress, half slip, short full slip along with vintage straw hat and home made black stockings (no shoes). All garments in excellent clean condition. She's marked "Armand Marseille - Germany - 390n A6M ".
All Original Antique French SFBJ 60 Doll - 10 inches - £125.00 (RESERVED)
     Antique French bisque head SFBJ doll, completely all original with straight leg composition body, bisque head, brown hair wig, sleep eyes and open mouth with all her teeth. The original outfit has lots of pretty lace work, original ribbons and soft lace trimmed cotton and silk undergarments. Age spotting to the fabric as you can see otherwise very good for years. I can find no chips or cracks to the bisque head, just minor light age dirt to the bisque. All fingers and feet intact, doll has no repaint, restoration or odours of any kind.
Strung with the original cord stringing which is secure but worn loose over the years. Doll is 10 inches in height, marked "SFBJ 60 PARIS 12/0".
Life Size Schoenau & Hoffmeister Bisque Child Doll - £325.00 (RESERVED)
      Dating to the early 1920s this wonderful life size antique German Schoenau & Hoffmeister child doll is a magnificent 29 inches in height. She has perfect blue sleep eyes, open mouth, all her teeth and antique dark blonde straight wig. The bisque head has a small factory "beauty spot" to left lower cheek (firing freckle) and factory separation to back rim lip with criss cross hairline running down from it but no actual play damage apart from a few wig pulls above right ear area. The original chunky wood and composition ball jointed body is overall good, strong and sturdy. A few surface chips/hairlines to feet and some roughness to finish at her rear area (possibly an old repaint to torso but may well be original finish). All fingers and toes are intact. She's a fabulous big girl who presents beautifully in antique Victorian clothing of elaborate broderie anglaise dress, full undergarments and straw flower trimmed bonnet. All garments in good clean condition for years. She's marked "SPBH 91412 1/2"

A beautiful happy faced baby with sparkling big blue sleep eyes and open mouth with both her front teeth. No damage to the bisque head, just minor surface age dirt and couple of small rubs to the blush. The original good quality composition bent limb baby body is in excellent condition for years retaining full original paint/finish, all fingers and toes intact. Baby is just as found in adorable antique knitted clothing of dress, undergarments, coat, bonnet, socks along with her original shoes. She's marked "AM Germany 518/31/2K".
