Ca 1890's Antique German Bisque Kestner 154 Doll - £175.00 (RESERVED)
  Dating to around 1897 this antique bisque JD Kestner Jr. shoulderhead doll is 19" in height with fixed blue eyes, open mouth, all teeth and superb antique French ringlet hair wig (this will be an old replacement). She's on her original
gusseted kid leather body which does have wear and old repairs where old kid leather patches were added (more photos available on request). The lower arms are her original bisque with all fingers intact. The bisque shoulder head is beautiful, no chips, cracks or hairlines (pate firmly plastered down). She wears her original lace trimmed slip dress, under slip, brown stockings (no shoes), long lace trimmed knickers (knickers are rather fragile), old knitted jacket
(with sewn in cloth label reading "Christie") and stunning old straw bonnet. She's marked "7 3/4. 154. DEP".

She's on her original bent limb baby body, in fabulous condition for it's years, all fingers, toes, factory blushing and accents intact. The bisque head is superb, no chips, cracks or hairlines, as to be expected just a couple of extremely minor tiny paint flakes and old paint touch up around base of neck due to paint wear from torso top socket rubbing

Armand Marseille 390 Antique German Bisque Doll - SOLD
  Large
size 25" antique Armand Marseille German bisque doll dating to around 1910.
She has blue sleep eyes (a couple of small flakes to lid wax), around 50% of the
original hair lashes remaining and open mouth with perfect row of porcelain
teeth. The bisque head has no chips, cracks or hairlines. She's on her original
wood and composition ball jointed body overall in very good condition for it's
years. All fingers and toes are intact. The fabulous waist length replacement
chestnut wig suits her well. Nice vintage outfit of dress, slip, knickers shoes
and socks, all in good clean condition. She's marked "Armand Marseille
Germany 390 A 8 M".

1920 Antique German Theodor Recknagel Baby Doll - £145.00
  16"
antique German character baby doll by Recknagel dating to around 1920. She has
blue sleep eyes which are quite deeply set (from factory). Almost all lid wax is
intact and she retains all her hair lashes. Her open mouth has both it's teeth
and she wears her original wig which is very sparse so she would benefit a
replacement. The bisque head is free from chips, cracks or hairlines. The bent
limb composition body is surface grubby but good sturdy condition, just a few
light paint scuffs and two chipped finger ends. Nicely dressed in antique lace
trimmed cotton dress, slip and bonnet, all in good clean condition for their
years. She's marked "121 R.3.A. Germany".

 Very
sweet 13" Heubach Koppelsdorf bisque shoulder head doll dating to around
1915. She's in lovely condition for her years with perfect bisque head, brown
sleep eyes (all lid wax intact), open mouth, all her teeth and slightly thin
mohair wig in tiny pig tails. She's on her excellent condition kid leather
jointed body complete with original wooden lower limbs (harder to find than the
composition!). All her carved fingers and toes are intact, just a few little
scuffs to the original paint as to be expected. Wearing a nice antique cotton
and lace full length gown with broderie anglaise half slip underneath (a couple
of minor holes to gown). She's marked "Germany 275. 11/0" with "Heubach
Koppelsdorf" just out of vision below shoulder plate.

German Bruno Schmidt celluloid head character toddler doll, a lovely big chubby
boy of 21 inches in height. He has blue sleep eyes, open mouth, both his pearly
teeth, tongue and very good original mohair wig. The celluloid head is free from
chips, cracks or hairlines. Colouring is lovely retaining good roses to cheeks
and clear complexion. His lovely quality chunky composition body is excellent
condition for years, very strong and sturdy, just minimal play scuffing and
stable old crack in the paint to side of one foot. All fingers and toes are
intact. His adorable old knitted pram suit is in good clean condition and suits
him well. He's faintly marked with Bruno Schmidt's heart symbol on his neck.

18" Hertel Schwab character baby doll dating to
around 1912. He has striking ice blue sleep eyes (perfect and all original with

(a little simple in make but still compliments him nicely) The bisque head is free from chips, cracks or hairlines. He's
on his original bent limb composition baby body in very nice
condition for it's years with just the loss of finger tip to littlest finger of
each hand and small chip to one toe. This very handsome
character boy is a delight for display in his adorable vintage knitted
outfit of matching coat, jumper, shorts and beret. All garments are in

9.5" antique French bisque head SFBJ doll wearing her original sailor dress
with additional old knitted sailor skirt and top worn over the top (dusty condition). She has
original painted features, closed mouth and mohair wig in pigtails (untidy). The
bisque head is typically pale and grainy, there are no chips, cracks or
hairlines. She's on her original straight leg composition body, jointed and
strung at hip and shoulder (stringing has worn loose but she still displays safe
and well). All fingers and feet are intact. She's marked "60 SFBJ PARIS

1930's Antique German "Baby Joan" Baby Doll - £150.00
 "Baby
Joan" is an adorable 14" German composition baby doll complete with
her original factory shift dress, partial dummy on string and "Baby
Joan" hang tag. She dates to the 1930's and has perfect clear blue glass sleep eyes
(100% lid wax intact) and open mouth with both her pearly front teeth. She's in
wonderful condition, I'd call her mint apart from a few teeny body scuffs from
her many years of storage (very minor). The well defined composition body
retains superb factory colour and glaze, perfect fingers and toes. The hard
composition head is in perfect condition with no scuffs or crazing. The
complexion is blemish free, just a little rub to the blush from the factory.
Hard to find in such remarkable all original condition, Baby Joan is a superb
German composition baby doll for display. Marked "2054 HW 2 1/2X
Jubilee".

German bisque shoulder head AM "Mabel" doll, 22" in height with blue sleep eyes (all lid wax intact), open mouth, full row of bisque teeth and vintage replacement ringlet wig. The bisque shoulder head has no damage. Mabel is on her original oilcloth and cloth body which is very good apart from a little expected dirt/wear and the lower legs look to have been re-covered and re-stuffed. There's also a tear to the leather at top back torso which will have been done to view the shoulder head's maker's mark. Her lower arms are the original bisque with all fingers intact but a few
little chips to undersides of finger tips. Just as found in her pretty vintage "Alice in Wonderland" style dress, big hair bow, pretty blue stone brooch and matching decoration to the sleeves. She's marked "Mabel Germany 1a".

She's a very pretty girl with blue sleep eyes (a little loss to lid wax), open mouth, all teeth intact and nice clean mohair wig with headdress (neatened up with a few stitches). The bisque head has no chips, cracks or hairlines, just a little rubbing to one outer eyebrow. The original fully jointed composition and wood body is in excellent condition for it's years, all fingers and toes intact. Sophia wears her original outfit of beautiful fine silk dress and multi layers of lace trimmed undergarments, all in immaculate clean condition. Sophia was obviously a very well treasured doll. She a delight for display in her exquisite dainty Victorian silk/lace bonnet, lace trimmed antique gown and slip. All garments are in excellent, clean condition.  Very special example of an all original 14" antique
English bisque shoulder head doll by Hewitt & Leadbeater Willow Potteries (Ca 1915). She's in beautiful clean condition with perfect bisque shoulder head, cloth body and original long slender pottery limbs (all fingers and toes intact). The original outfit includes exquisite embroidered cotton and lace gown, heavily lace trimmed cape, fancy lace trimmed embroidered wool and cotton bonnet with fine silk embroidered bonnet underneath. Underneath she wears multiple layers of cotton and wool undergarments and stockings. It's difficult to appreciate the superb intricate detail
of the outfit in the photos, it's truly spectacular. Sadly the shoes are missing otherwise all garments complete and immaculate. She's marked
"H & L Willow 3 England".

1890 Antique German Bisque Alt Beck & Gottschalck Doll - SOLD
  Remarkable
condition early antique all original 16" German bisque shoulder head doll
by Alt Beck & Gottschalck. She dates to around 1890 and has a stunning bisque shoulder head with
fabulous detail and deeply moulded curls. The bisque is flawless, no chips, cracks or hairlines. Her original solidly sawdust
stuffed cloth body, porcelain lower limbs, moulded boots and stockings are all
in superb condition, all fingers perfectly intact. Just as found in her original outfit of fine cotton
flower dress with soft lace inserts at the bodice and matching bonnet.
Underneath she wears all her original lace trimmed cotton undergarments. All garments are in excellent clean
condition for their years although there's been a snip to the back of the dress
bodice (I'd say in order to view her shoulder head markings) which should easily
sew back up. She's marked "1064 4".
Large Antique
French Tete Jumeau Bebe Doll - SOLD
  Fabulous
rare find large antique French Tete Jumeau Bebe doll, dating to 1885 -1899.
She's a very impressive large size of 27 inches in height with beautiful big bulbous glass eyes, closed mouth and pierced ears. She's on her original
fully jointed chunky body in very good strong condition for it's years (no back stamp).
The finger tips are rubbed but all her chubby fingers and toes are perfectly
intact. The bisque head is stunning but does have it's flaws.. she's hairlined twice from the forehead rim, one short, the other continuing downwards to side of nose where it
shows the most prominently. From here it then curves almost invisibly below the same cheek towards side seam of head. There is also a
couple of old minor chips to the eye cut out rims and short curved firing lines to one side
and underneath chin (this is factory flaw as the colour was fired in). The long wig is now quite thin and wispy so has been swept
up into a clasp at the back. The thick cork pate is firmly glued to the rim.
Beautifully dressed in Victorian cotton/lace dress, layered cotton undergarments, stockings and kid leather shoes along with her later additions of fur hat/muff set, earrings and costume brooch.
She bears the red stamp mark "DEPOSE TETE JUMEAU BTE SGDG 12 W9" to neck.

 Antique German AM mould 352 "Baby Gloria" doll, 16 inches in height, dating to the mid 1920's. She has blue sleep eyes (virtually all lid wax intact), open mouth, both front teeth and sweet lightly moulded curls. She's on her original solidly stuffed jointed cloth body which has a neat patch sewn around top torso otherwise excellent condition for it's years, working "mama", all her composition fingers are intact. She wears what looks to be her original outfit of dress,
lace trimmed slip and pretty little bonnet. Baby Gloria has no chips, cracks or
hairlines to the bisque head. The outfit is good apart from some play wear to dress. She's marked "AM Germany 352".

original factory stringing (stringing safe and sturdy but worn a little slack at
the arms). The body is in excellent condition for it's years, original factory
finish, perfect fingers and toes. The beautifully moulded bisque head is a
stunning early mulatto tone with no chips, cracks or hairlines. Wearing her
original outfit, kid leather shoes and abundance of glass beads, she's marked "1894 AM
2/0 DEP".

to the mid 1920's, this delightful antique German Grace Storey Putnam Bye-Lo
Baby doll is 11 inches in height. She has a perfect bisque head with lightly
moulded curls, pouty closed mouth and fixed brown glass eyes. She's on her
original "frog leg" cloth body with a few surface marks but overall
good sturdy condition for it's years, just minor paint wear to the composition
hands. Inside her tummy is a non working mama device. Wearing a nice antique
outfit of dress, slip, jacket and bonnet all in good but slightly dusty
condition. She's marked "Corp by Grace S. Putnam - Made in Germany".

 "George"
is an antique German "Jutta" character baby doll by Simon & Halbig
for Cuno & Otto Dressel dating to around 1914. He's a lovely big bouncing
baby boy of 24 inches in height with perfect blue sleep eyes, open mouth, both top teeth and
original hair wig. The bisque head is beautifully moulded and free from
chips, cracks or hairlines. George is on his original extra chunky swivel wrist composition body
with expected light play scuffing and a couple of surface wear areas to the
paint but overall good, strong and sturdy. The swivel hands have been freshened
up with paint and a couple of fingers professionally restored (all nicely done).
Wearing his original lace trimmed cotton all-in-one romper, he's marked "Jutta
1914 13".
Ca 1890's Large Antique Lucy Peck Poured Wax Doll

  This very special 22"
antique English poured wax Lucy Peck doll dates to around 1890 and has the rarer sleeping eye mechanism!.
The eyes are opened and closed by moving a wire lever mechanism from her tummy (some lid wax loss on closed eyes).
She's a truly stunning antique doll with poured wax shoulder head, turned to the right. Wax is in excellent condition for it's years, just a few minor scuffs and
light surface lineage to back of shoulder plate. She retains fabulous all original colour,
no fading or patchiness. The hair wig is a possible old replacement as there's fine hair inserts underneath.
She's on her original "Luck Peck" stamped body with chubby wax lower limbs, all excellent condition for it's years apart from chip to toes on left foot.
Wearing her exquisite original lace gown and 3 layers of cotton undergarments, all in excellent condition for their years.
She has been kept under a glass dome for most of her life which has preserved her beautifully.

 Dating
to the mid 1920's, this antique German Armand Marseille Dream Baby doll is 13
inches in height. She has blue sleep eyes (some loss to lid wax) and lovely bisque head with pouty closed mouth
(a couple of little rubs to cheeks/nose tip but no chips, cracks or hairlines to
bisque). She's on her original soft stuffed cloth body which has lost some of
its firmness from many years of cuddles. She has her original composition
hands with 2 chipped fingers and old reinforcement to the cloth at the wrists.
There's a squeaking device in her tummy which no longer makes any noise. Wearing
her original outfit of slip and gown, she's marked "AM Germany 341".
Antique Heubach Koppelsdorf 320

 Adorable little antique German Heubach Koppelsdorf character doll, a super all original girl and an ideal cabinet size of 9.5
inches in height. She dates to around 1920 and has perfect blue sleep eyes (100% lid wax intact), original curly mohair wig, pierced nostrils (breather) and open mouth with both her front teeth. The bisque head has no chips, cracks or
hairlines. On close inspection there's just a minor roughness around the nostril openings from her manufacture (common in these smaller sized
"breather" dolls). She's on her original composition baby body in excellent clean condition for it's years. Wearing her original outfit of dress and matching undergarments, she's marked "Heubach Koppelsdorf - 320.14/0 Germany".

& Halbig German Bisque Doll - SOLD
 Truly stunning 18" antique German bisque
doll by Simon & Halbig for Franz Schmidt & Co. dating to around 1900. She has blue sleep eyes (virtually all lid wax intact), open mouth, perfect row of teeth, tongue, pierced ears and ringlet mohair wig (slightly untidy). The bisque head is superb, no damage
or restoration at all but just mentioned for accuracy is a factory flaw inside the head where
a tiny additional piece of bisque has made a minor ridge by one outer lower neck seam. She's on her original superb quality ball jointed wood and composition body which is overall excellent for it's years,
just missing one little finger and a tiny chip to one toe. Wearing what looks to be her original outfit of cotton dress with French knot embroidery, string of pearls, mother-of-pearl brooch, multi layers of lace trimmed cotton undergarments and original "Depose" stamped shoes. She's marked "S & C Simon & Halbig 6 1/2".
Antique German Recknagel
Character Baby Boy Doll - SOLD
 Rare antique German Recknagel closed mouth character baby boy doll dating to around 1909. He's a lovely small cabinet size of 7.5 inches with perfect bisque head, blue intaglio eyes, wonderful detailed solemn expression and lightly moulded hair. He's on his original bent limb baby body which is good and sturdy, just a little loosely strung and the original paint finish is surface worn but no cracks, chips or crazing at all. Beautifully dressed in his original silk gown (dusty with age), matching slip, lace half slip, fine silk vest and knickers (these have some silk shredding) and cotton bootees. He's marked with Recknagel's crossed sword "RA" trademark "R*ARIV7".

Bisque Limoges Doll - SOLD
  Beautiful
large antique French bisque head doll, 22" in height, dating to around
1915. She has stunning blue glass eyes in their original factory set, pierced
ears, original earrings, open mouth with all her moulded teeth (tiny rub to
bottom lip) and nice original human hair wig. She's on her original wood and
composition jointed body in excellent sturdy condition for it's years, just a
little surface gesso wear to tops of arms, one missing finger on left hand and
two on the right. The bisque head is beautifully moulded with no chips, cracks,
hairlines or damage around the original ear piercings at all. Just as found in
full cotton undergarments, original leather shoes, nice old lace gown and lovely
fancy bonnet. All garments are in excellent clean condition. She's marked "Limoges
France"

Antique German Cuno & Otto Dressel Doll - SOLD
 Early 1890's
antique German Cuno & Otto Dressel closed mouth composition shoulder head doll, a fabulous early doll complete
with all original garments. She's 23" in height with wonderful slightly turned composition shoulder head, huge brown glass eyes in their original set and nice original
mohair wig. She's on her original kid leather gusseted body complete with individually fashioned toes and perfect original lower bisque arms. The composition head is dirty with some rubs (cheeks and nose tip) but overall very good for it's years, no cracks, crazing or hairlines. The fabulous original outfit includes embroidered cream woollen flannel cape, white lace gown with inserts and tucks, full undergarments and superb kid leather shoes. She's a lovely example of a late 19th century shoulder head doll bearing the Cuno & Otto Dressel winged helmet stamp to body.

All Original Early English Antique Poured Wax Doll

 Wonderful
rare find all original antique English poured wax doll standing at an
impressive 24 inches in height and dating right back to the
early 1860's. She has a superb poured wax shoulder head with the exquisite
detail you would expect from a high quality early English wax doll. The wax is in excellent condition for it's many years, just
one
stable surface line coming from the factory drill hole of shoulder plate
(probably done in manufacture). She has the rarer sleeping eye mechanism
(perfect working order) and original fine hair inserts. Her cloth body and chubby wax lower
limbs are all in excellent condition for their years, just a small chip on the
underside of finger tip and loss of one thumb tip which has worn down so
smoothly over the years that it's not immediately apparent.
Wearing her exquisite original lace gown, multi layers of undergarments and
fancy bonnet, all handworked with the finest detail (some expected shredding
amongst skirt of gown and a few little holes to bonnet).
She's a fabulous piece of early doll making history and obviously been well
treasured to have remained in such lovely condition today.

Ca 1890's Simon & Halbig Antique Bisque Doll -

 Beautiful 23" antique German Simon & Halbig doll dating to around the late 1890's. She has blue sleep eyes (all lid wax intact), open mouth with all her teeth, pierced ears (with partial original earrings) and nice quality replacement wig in good keeping with her original style. The bisque head has no damage, just a few tiny firing scratches to the blush and little pin mark below one eye (from manufacture). She's on her original superb quality ball jointed wood and composition body which has some expected paint scuffing (mainly hands and lower legs) but overall very good, strong and sturdy. All fingers and toes are intact, one thumb has been re-glued at some point but nicely done. Wearing the beautiful antique dress which came with her along with broderie anglaise skirted slip, long lace trimmed knickers, stockings and modern boots. She's marked "1078 Germany - Simon & Halbig - S&H 10".

 Superb large sized antique Max Oscar Arnold German bisque head child doll who's a magnificent 30 inches in height!!. She dates to the early 1920's and has perfect brown sleep eyes, fantastic moulding with lovely chubby cheeks, open mouth, all her porcelain teeth and original hair wig in braids. She's on her original ball jointed wood and composition which is in excellent condition,
just some surface cracks to the finish at one ankle/foot area which is stable. All fingers and toes are intact. Wearing her original outfit of beautiful
pin tucked lace trimmed gown with trims to match her hair ribbons. The bisque head has no damage, incised "MOA WELSCH Germany 200".
1920's Antique Armand Marseille Oriental Baby Doll

 Rare
11" antique German AM baby doll, an adorable hard to find Oriental doll with brown sleep eyes and lovely pouty closed mouth.
He's on his original oriental tone composition baby body, in excellent condition with just a chip to one thumb and 2 chips to the composition at top of torso.
There's no chips, cracks or hairlines to the bisque head which is marked "AM ELLAR (in a star) "Germany 2K".
Wearing his original trouser suit and cap which retains great colour but has torn open at the back and has
holes (more photos of this baby available on request).
