1940s Antique English "Tubby" Teddy Bear - Working Growler - £55.00
      "Tubby" is an adorable circa 1940s antique English teddy bear (no label) with fully working growler in his tummy. Tubby is 17 inches in height, fully jointed with glass eyes, velvet pads (worn but no holes) and good stitching retained to his delightful squashy nose and smiley mouth!. Tub's mohair is very sparse, only a tiny amount of fur remaining and there's faint marking above one eye otherwise a lovely solid old English growling bear with big fat tummy!. Tubby wears a handsome V neck belted sweater which suits him well.

1950s Antique English "Megan" Chad Valley Bear - 11 inches - £55.00
      Megan is a very sweet 1950s old English Chad Valley teddy bear with tiny remains of her label to right side seam. 11 inches in height, she's fully jointed with glass eyes, excellent nose/mouth stitching, velveteen pads and non working squeaker in her tummy. Megan's head and limb joints are now all floppy but she can still sit unaided and strike a good pose when she's in the mood!. Dusty from storage, her mohair was once long and thick but now has plenty of balding and there's a teeny hole to crotch. Megan wears a 50s flower print cotton dress which is tatty/frayed after all these years but still looks sweet on her.

1950s Large IRISH Pedigree Labeled Bear - Working Growler! - £65.00
     1950s Pedigree Teddy Bear with the harder to find "Pedigree - Made in Ireland" label retained to his back seam. A well loved big old ted who's once blonde mohair is now dusty and sparse but still a very handsome character and his growler works too!. 23 inches in height, he's very solid with good heavy weight to him, fully jointed with amber/black plastic eyes, original black "dog nose", good nose to mouth stitching and original cream plush pads. Wearing a cuddly vintage knitted scarf which suits him well.

1940s Antique English Chiltern Teddy Bear - HUGE RARE SIZE!! - SOLD
       Dating to the 1940s this very special antique English Chiltern mohair teddy bear (no label) is a magnificent large size of 28 inches in height!!. So rare to find in this extra large size, he's a superb heavyweight chunky bear for display in excellent condition for years. He has glass eyes, virtually black in colour, all original nose/mouth stitching, claws are present and the growler in his tummy still occaisionally gives a little grumble too!!!. Extremely clean mohair with some loss here and there but overall very good for years. Paw pads are original with old darn to one, the foot pads have been professionally replaced. This outstanding large Chiltern bear was obviously well treasured to remain in such superb clean condition today, he's absolutely amazing in real life!.
LARGE SIZE!!.. Antique English 1940s Straw Stuffed Panda Bear - £75.00
       Dating to the 1940s this wonderful big chunky antique English panda bear (no label) is a fabulous large size of 28 inches in height!!. A good heavy quality straw stuffed art silk bear, fully jointed with fabulous long snout, big clear glass eyes with leather backing and non working growler in his tummy. Light fur wear to toe areas and baldness to back of head. There's also a fragile torn, bald area to back shoulder with fabric patch underneath the torn hole (see photo). Otherwise this magnificent big Panda bear is in good, clean sturdy condition for years, no odours of any kind.

1950s Antique British 14 inch Teddy Bear - "Minnie" - £65.00
      "Minnie" is a beautiful old English teddy bear (no label) dating to the 1950s. 14 inches in height, she's fully jointed with amber/black plastic eyes, original rexine pads (light wear to pads) and the most adorable heart shaped face with long square muzzle and perfect nose/mouth stitching. Minnie's bright golden mohair is very good for years and she's very clean with no stains or odours. Just as found wearing her very sweet old brushed cotton nightgown which looks as though it was "mummy made" for her. Minnie has a non working squeaker in her tummy.

      "Violet" is a very sweet well loved old English teddy bear (no label) dating to the 1950s. 14 inches in height, she's fully jointed with glass eyes, original velveteen pads and non working squeaker/growler in her tummy. Violet has good original nose/mouth stitching but her soft golden mohair does have wear/balding. Joints are floppy and there's slight saggyness to arms and legs where stuffing has shifted over the years. Apart from a couple of minor marks to tummy she's good and clean for years, no odours of any kind. Just as found wearing her very sweet old cardi which suits her well.

     1950s/60s British Pedigree mohair Teddy Bear with remains of white and blue Pedigree label to back seam (just the "P" and partial "E" remaining). A very clean and handsome bear, 18 inches in height with glass eyes, original black plastic "dog" nose, brown velveteen pads and excellent thick dark golden mohair with just light wear around eyes and bald patches to tummy and back. No dirt or odours, joints all good and he poses well.

LARGE 1930s CHAD VALLEY MAGNA Series Antique Bear - with Label - SOLD
      Dating to the 1930s this beautiful large antique Chad Valley MAGNA Series teddy bear retains his red and white Chad Valley label to one foot pad. A magnificent large size of 23 inches in height, he's fully jointed with all original nose/mouth stitching and has managed to hang on to a couple of his original claws too!. The lower feet cotton pads are original (couple of small holes), "hand" paws have been neatly replaced with good quality brown felt. Joints all good, he poses well and has a non working squeaker/growler in his tummy. Light areas of fur loss as to be expected from such an old boy but coverage overall very good for his years, and he has no odours of any kind.
1930s CHAD VALLEY MAGNA SERIES Bear in early wool coat - SOLD
      Dating to the 1930s this very handsome large antique Chad Valley MAGNA teddy bear retains his red and white Chad Valley label to one foot pad. 20 inches in height, he's fully jointed with glass eyes, original nose/mouth stitching and has managed to hang on to most of his original claws too!. He has areas of fur loss as to be expected including around his nose. He's saggy around the neck, shoulders and tummy and there's old mend to back seam. Coat looks to be very early, showing it's years with shedding to the remains of the delicate silk lining but suits him perfectly as you can see!.Bear and his coat have light dust but no stains or odours.

     This rare find old English sheepskin Tinka-Bell panda bear is 17 inches in height and dates to the 1940s/50s. She's a very solid straw stuffed bear, jointed limbs with thick wooly sheepskin fur and original glass eyes. She's missing her felt nose and Tinka-Bell label and there's a small hole to one foot pad otherwise good sturdy condition for years. No odours of any kind.

Circa 1930s Antique British 16 inch Teddy Bear - "Terry" - £65.00
      "Terry" is a wonderful well loved antique British teddy bear (no label) dating to circa 1930s. 16 inches in height, he's fully jointed with glass eyes, worn rexine pads and fabulous upturned nose (what a priceless expression!!) with original inverted "V" shape stitching. Terry's fur is sparse with some dustiness and a couple of marks to backing fabric of legs but no odours of any kind. There's saggy areas to tops of arms where the stuffing has shifted over the years and legs a tiny bit swingy but he poses extremely handsomely as you can see!. Terry wears what looks to be his original (faded) bow ribbon around his neck.

      Dating to the 1930s, this antique English Chiltern bear (no label) is 18 inches in height. Fully jointed with original glass eyes (wires a little loose), cloth pads (some old mends to pads), excellent nose/mouth stitching and almost all his claws retained. Ted has a plenty of balding, he's lightly dusty and has a non working squeaker in his tummy. A fabulous old character from the 1930s, no odours of any kind.

     This wonderful antique miniature German Schuco bear is just 3.5 inches in height. Fully jointed with lovely mohair coverage, he's an earlier example with metal stud eyes and metal body. All original nose/mouth stitching (just a tiny amount of wear to nose stitching). Excellent condition for years, very clean example with great mohair colour.

1930s Antique German 17" Hermann Teddy Bear - Working Growler - £75.00
      "Vernon" is a well loved antique German Hermann teddy bear (no label) dating to the 1930s. 17 inches in height, he's fully jointed with original glass eyes, old replacement felt pads (lightly worn) and fully working deep growler in his tummy!. Vernon's fur is very sparse and lightly dusty but no odours of any kind. He's completely straw stuffed making him a very solid ted and all his joints are nice and tight. Wearing an old knitted jumper which suits his colouring well.

    Dating to the 1950s this adorable Old English Chiltern Hugmee bear is 11 inches in height. 1950s Large Old Chad Valley Teddy Bear with Christies Documentation - SOLD
      Dating to the 1950s this very handsome English Chad Valley teddy bear is a magnificent large size of 24 inches in height!!. A good solid chunky bear complete with provenance of purchase from Christies in 1994, the auction invoice, (£192.84 dating to December 1994), copy of the original auction catalogue page along with colour plate of him with some of the other bear lots of the day (he's the one to left of the largest bear in group photo), front cover copy of original Christie's auction catalogue, photo of him taken by original owner and type up of his purchase history, condition report and stating that he was included in the same sale the world famous Steiff Teddy Girl was auctioned (would have loved to have been there!!). Here's the 1994 Christie's description.. 1) "A Chad Valley teddy bear with golden mohair, orange and black plastic eyes, black stitched "button" nose, black stitched mouth, swivel head, jointed shaped limbs, brown velvet pads, growler and label stitched to right foot pad - 24 in (61cm) tall 1950s". Bear in excellent condition for his years with working growler and good coverage of thick mohair (just a small worn patch to tummy). Minor light dust, no odours of any kind. Joints all good, he poses well and retains his (faded) Chad Valley label to foot and small label to side seam.
RARE Large Merrythought Antique Musical Teddy Bear - SOLD
      Rare find antique Merrythought musical bear dating to circa 1940s. He's a wonderful large size of 22 inches in height with glass eyes, original drop nose/mouth stitching and fully working wind up musical mechanism in his back (I believe the tune could be "Santa Lucia"). He has his original felt pads with all three claws intact to each paw. Clear outline from where the yellow Merrythought label used to be but only the tiny remains of actual label now present (just part of the "M" of Merrythought print remaining). Bare patch of mohair around the mechanism key (see photo) and a few added stitches to the opening. Arm stuffing has shifted over the years making tops of arms feel saggy. Minor light dust, no odours of any kind. Overall a fabulous rare Merrythought in good clean condition for years and it's remarkable the music mechanism still works too!.
Large Vintage Golden Mohair Mystery Bear - 22 inches - SOLD
      I'd say this large unlabelled vintage mystery bear is German in origin, circa 1950s/60s. He's a very handsome fellow, 22 inches in height with long muzzle, large flat feet and long arms with curved paws, claws and original velveteen pads, Straw stuffed head and light soft stuffed body, he's very clean with good thick deep golden mohair, glass eyes and original nose/mouth stitching. Apart from a slight head wobble, joints all nice and tight and he poses well. Small neat circular sewn repair to one ankle otherwise no damage, dirt or odours of any kind.
