Most antique and vintage jointed dolls were strung together using elastic cords or rubber bands. These are prone to slackening/perishing with age and will often need replacing at some time during a doll's life. Always ensure this is done correctly as incorrect tension can result in unstableness or damage to head and weakening to doll's body openings.

Here at Diane's Dolls UK, I offer a professional restringing service for all antique bisque, composition and hard plastic dolls. Prices start from £15.00 (depending upon your dolls type/size) plus their return journey home. This service includes a freshen up of your doll using professional quality cleaning products and your doll is usually returned home within the week. Please contact me for further details.

If you prefer to re-string your own dolls, I can also help!.. I'm often asked if I can supply the elastic cord I use in my doll re-stringing clinic so here it is!!..

An excellent professional quality elastic cord with multi stranded rubber core encased by strong woven polyester outer sheath. Extremely tough and long lasting, it provides excellent tension for doll re-stringing and has the capability to stretch to 100% plus.

Original 1950s Vintage Hard Plastic Doll Wig - Blonde Braids - £4.99 (each)

Original 1950s blonde braided vintage doll wig produced for the smaller sized hard plastic dolls with head circumference of around 5 - 6 inches. Unused condition complete with original bag, wig is a lovely glossy golden blonde colour. very popular in the 1950s. Base of wig has a small amount of adhesive which has become a little tacky over the years otherwise just as good as when new in the 1950s!.

5 pairs of original 1950s/60s vintage white cotton doll knickers, modelled here by a 13 inch BND toddler doll to give you an idea of size (doll and shoes not included!) but also fits many similar sized hard plastic such as Pedigrees, Roddys, Rosebuds and vintage vinyl dolls such as Teeny Tiny Tears amongst many others. Measurements are 2.5 inches from waistband to crotch, approx 8 inches around waist. These doll knickers are old shop stock, never been used.

3 pairs of original 1950s/60s vintage plastic baby doll knickers, a useful size that fits many baby dolls up to around 16 inches in height - modelled here by a 16 inch Tiny Tears doll to give you an idea of size (doll not included in the sale!) but also fits many 1950s hard plastic dolls such as the 15 & 16 inch Pedigree babies, Rosebud and Roddy baby dolls.
